My approach to guitar making
My build philosophy can be summed up in the phrase “Where Tone, Tradition, and Technology Meet.”
Tone
I believe that great tone is the foundation of a great guitar. I strive for what I like to refer to as “piano like” tone in every instrument I make: Complex and rich overtones, clarity without harshness, and sustain that goes on and on.
Tradition
I still use razor sharp chisels, rasps, files, and traditional construction methods to create instruments with a feeling and character not found with factory built guitars.
Technology
Where appropriate, I use advanced tools like CNC machining, an industrial laser and even a 3-D printer to help me be more efficient and precise. Utilizing these tools allows me to spend more time on hand craftsmanship and details that matter.
